What’s included

What every rust repair & fabrication job covers.

The scope you can expect when the car is booked in for this specific work.

A welder joining metal panels with bright sparks flying in an industrial workshop

Cutting out rusted metal back to sound material

MIG welding fresh steel into sills, arches and floor sections

Fabrication of small panels and patches for out-of-production vehicles

Seam sealing and underbody protection over repaired areas

Refinishing of repaired sections to match the surrounding paint

Our approach

How we actually do it.

Rust spreads under paint before it ever shows through it, so the cut line isn’t where the bubble is — it’s wherever the metal actually reads clean and solid, confirmed panel by panel as we go. Cutting back too little just buys the same repair again in two years.

Fresh steel is MIG-welded in and dressed flush, then sealed properly — inside and out — before refinishing, because a rust repair that isn’t sealed underneath is just a rust repair that hasn’t come back yet.

How it works

The steps, in order.

What actually happens between dropping the car off and picking it back up.

01

Cut back

The corroded area is opened up and cut back until the surrounding metal is clean and sound.

02

Weld in

A shaped patch or fabricated panel is welded into place and dressed flush.

03

Seal and refinish

Seams are sealed, the area is primed and painted, and underbody protection is reapplied where needed.

When you need it

Bring the car in if any of this sounds familiar.

Bubbling paint at the bottom of a door, arch or sill

Rot along a floor pan, boot floor or inner wheel arch

An older or classic vehicle where a replacement panel is no longer sold

Preparing a car for a safety inspection where corrosion is a concern

Questions

What people usually ask before booking.

Is it worth repairing rust, or should I just replace the panel?

Depends how far it’s spread and whether a replacement panel still exists. We’ll open it up, show you what’s underneath, and give you an honest answer either way.

Can you fabricate a panel that isn’t made anymore?

Yes — for older vehicles we shape and weld in a patch or full panel from sheet steel to match the original.

Will the repair just rust again?

Not if it’s sealed properly. Every repair is sealed inside and out before refinishing, which is the step that actually stops rust coming back.
